  • Duties: 1) congratulate base runners, 2) collect batting gloves
  • and other gear the runner discards, 3) Argue with ump as needed
  • 4) May throw infield warmup ball to first baseman at end of inning  
  • Optional: Remind runner of the score and number of outs
  • Not responsible for size of runner's lead or decision to break for
  • second base-- stealing is up to the runner
