Is an umpire ever swayed by a manager's argument?
If he's arguing a judgement call, forget it!
If it's on a rules interpretation he has a slight chance
Skillful squawkers do not touch ump but they kick a lot of dirt!

You don't want to show up the ump and you don't want to be confrontational
Instead of screaming "You blew it!" you might ask him "Why did you make that call?"
