The basics

  • Duration of series: no more than 15 games  
  • Winner: the team that wins 8 games
  • Games will be played in each team's
       home park in equitable fashion
  • All games to begin at 3 pm
  • Contingencies

  • If a game is rained out, it is to be
    made-up prior to October 15

  • Note: Player contracts expire
    on October 15

  • Cub health: Kling has a bad finger, Evers a lame wrist, Casey a lame ankle
    Sox health: Manager Callahan has lame wrist, and missed the final games of the season
    Eligibility of players

  • Non-pitchers: Must have played in
       at least twenty games for the club

  • Pitchers: Must have pitched at    
    least five full games for the club
  • The Callahan Proposition

  • Allow Harry Clark to play for the Sox even
    though he is three games shy of the minimum
  • Allow Clarence Currie to play for the Cubs   
    even though he pitched only four full games
  • Cub President Hart declines the proposal
